Welcome to the World

Sylvia has been
beadweaving since
1992. She is also a
teacher of the craft.
Her work has been
featured in 2 published
beading books, one being
The Illustrated Bead Bible.

I found Sylvia while
playing around in
Artfire. I think that
her work is stunning.
A few years ago she
taught herself to
Bead Crochet and
Knit Crochet which
are exampled here.
She and another share a shop on Artfire.
Beadacious1221 is her shop's name and you will
love her unique and earthy style.

I have truly
enjoyed looking
at and writing
about sylvia's

Welcome to the Mystical Treasures
of Willow Walker Designs

I found this artist
while using Plurk.
I visited her Artfire
Shop and was so
impressed with
her glass and wire
work I just
couldn't resist
sharing with everyone.

Her work,
as you
can see,
is unique,
fanciful,
bright &
colorful.
If you are
familier
with me,
you know how much I LOVE color.
She started glass work at 8 years of age.
She is a second generation glass artist and
teacher. She is a mother of 2 and lives in
Oregon. Willow Walker's jewelry is mdae
of beautifully wired dichroic glass art.

Take a good
look at these
4 samples.
Her wire
wrapping
is very
intricate.

You can find her on Artfire.com
under WillowWalkerDesigns.
Check her site out and enjoy!

Another New Medium to Share

Well, I have made it back
to my blog. I've been away
for some time. I have another
new medium that I've
been playing with.
I have always loved to
crochet and now there
are so many fun yarns
out there to pick from.

Take this neck warmer
for example, I was able
to mix-n-match several
different yarns.

Or this skinny scarf.
I used three different
colors of the same
fancy yarn. Though,
the yarn is very thin,
I doubled up to thicken
up the stitches.

I have three or so more in the works.
I'll put them up on Artfire shop asap.
You can find the items shown above
in my Artfire studio. My shop designs
and creations are for the Rubenesque
Woman. I believe that whatever shape
a woman is deserving of beautiful
jewelry that looks great and fits
properly, luscious and great fitting
outer wear and dazzling accessories.

Art & Artists - Me & My Friends #13

I have a follower
of my blog that I
didn't recognize.
Ohhh, another
shop to browse.
Yay!
When I got to looking at the jewelry
I began to drool. What lovely symmetry
it had and an unusual balance.

As I was observing
the color combos
the pieces began
to look very
romantic and
quite pretty.
I just had to tell
the world about the beautiful bracelets.

She does her own
lampwork and as
you can see she is
quite good. The
bracelets are big
and chunky. Just
my style.

Example after
example she is
consistent. One
nicer than the
next. But "Who
is She. I have to
admit that I
personally don't know much.
Her profile was was very short.
I know she lives in Lake Havasu,
AZ, (my home state),that her
Birthday is on June 13th, Happy
Belated Birthday, and her name,
Pam.

The name of
her shop is
Klassy Joolz.
I hope all
who read this
will go on over
and give her a
look see. Her URL is
From a 1 to 10 I give her an 8. She's
worth it.

Art & Artists - Me & My Friends #12

Hi All;
I have not written
on my blog in so
long, I have the
need to blog!

I have been
playing with a
new medium.
What fun!!!!
These are a few
samples of my
work.

I am using a
stainless steel
blank with a
built in bail

You will see these
all over the
Internet. Most of
them are wooden
scrabble blocks,
with either paper
or fabric on them,
then some kind of
sealer to keep it
clean or just
shine. There are
several on the
market.

I have been
using Enamels
with a glossy
top coat. This
is an easy craft
to learn but,
it takes quite a
long time to
cure. After
you paint your
first layer it
needs to cure
over night. so
depending on
how many
layers it takes
you to finish
your design
plus the 3
glossy top coats
which also needs
to be cured over
night it could
take a few days.
So, I had 4 or 5
going at the same
time.

To me, the
abstracts are
more difficult to
do because they
really need
planning. The
flowers, fish
and tree were
much simpler. I
already knew
everything about
flowers, fish &
trees.

Well, I hope you
found this craft
something you
would enjoy
doing yourself
and really have
fun.

Art & Artists - Me & my Friends #10

Today I would like to talk to you about Victorian jewelry.

This piece is one of the new styles, at least for me. I love the romantic softness of filigree. Also, the choices of dangles and the number of them. Then the many different color combinations of stones for each piece.

There seems to be so much more that you can do creatively with this type of jewelry. At first you just
look at all the many parts and pieces and wonder
what the heck do I do with this junk, but pretty soon the smoke clears and your brain starts getting the
juices flowing. Picture 2 is another example of just how beautiful and romantic this style of jewelry can
be. Look how many pieces is in this item.

Another example of what you can do with this style. I made the cabochons myself. The rest are crystals 4mm
bead dangles.

The next item I will show you is in three pictures
because I wanted to get really close to it so you could
see what I was included in this one. This one on the
right is a fire opal CZ and in the center of the bottom part is a Swarovski button.

I hope I have gotten some of you all excited about Victorian jewelry. I know that I have learned to love it myself. All the pieces you see here are available at my Etsy shop at

Art & Artists - Me & My Friends #9

I'd like to show you a few new pieces of my Large & Lovely line of jewelry.
I'm really trying to stretch my skills. I've had a great time and am still
growing. Very soon I'll be uploading my new embroidery beaded
bracelets, but for now here are my newest attempts.
I personally love this one.
The colors, I like bright and
sparkly. The beadweaving
style is a very old Dutch
Spiral design. I added loads
of drop beads on both ends
and on the end of the chain.
By the way the chain makes
the bracelet adjustable
to about any size needed.

The next one I'm showing is a
spring coloredverigated furry
yarn heart. The heart is covered
with multi-colored glass leaves
between shiny pale pink
rondelles. There are three
strands of long length, each
were crocheted seperately then
all three on one side were
braided to the very end.
Then leaves were added at the
end to dangle. Imagine wearing
this necklace with a sweet looking
sundress, or what ever you like.
The last item of today is a set. A wire wrapped bracelet with two sizes and oodles of fresh water pearl drops on the front of the bracelet and on the back ends of the band. The matching earrings also are just lavishly dripping pearls. This set looks great with dress jeans or a sundress or even a semi-formal. You deside.
You will find many more lovely items for both the Large & Lovely and the Medium and Small wrist sizes at my shop. http://jannadu.etsy.com/

Today on my blog I'd like to spotlight another member of my Etsy Team.
Her Name is AnnaLee Husband & she lives in Toronto, Canada. She is an exceptionally brilliant jewelery designer who takes delite in making lasting and timeless jewelry with genuine stones and a large variety of metals. It isn't difficult to tell a piece of her jewelry, she really has her brand etablished.

She has three shops but, today we'll only be
talking about her Sassy D Lites Shop that is
full of lots of beautiful pieces of jewelry.
They stand alone. Just look at them, and you
want to go out and buy a new outfit to match.

She makes really great Men's Jewelry.
Beautiful and masculine. Here is just one
example of her good taste in men's jewelry.

She has ingredible color combo selection. Unusual looking to me, just because I wouldn't have thought of using all the different colored wires and real stones.

Don't forget to stop by our eSMArts Team Shop.
http://esmarts.etsy.com/ where all the monies received is given to a charitable cause and all the items in the shop are donated by the team.

You can find AnnaLee on Etsy at http://sassydlite.etsy.com/ or read more about her at her blog http://sassydliteblogspot.com/

Art & Artists - Me & My Friends #7

Do you realize that it's February already! Well things just creep up on me usually and I am late. It wasn't always like that. I was the one who always wanted to have a party - for birthdays, all the holidays, including Valentines day. I'd get everyone committed to be there (where ever) and what they wanted to bring, or what kind of party they wanted to have. You know, picnic out of town, backyard bar-b-que, a night out at the clubs for dancing, just a nice dinner party at who ever is turn it was house or what ever. Some family and some, a mixture of friends and family.
Valentines Day is a beautiful way to show the one you love (or like, guess it depends on your age, or does it?) how much you appreciate, care for, are comfortable with after all those years you have spent together.
I've been married 21 years, and we are just getting comfortable enough that we don't have to have the other's attention all the time. Gosh, was he difficult to get trained. LOL LOL
Seriously though, he isn't very romantic but all I have to do is ask for something and he gets it for me. I had to break through the "NO" period he went through but I made it. WHOOHOO I'm sure all you wives out there have been through or maybe still going through that time. Don't worry. This too will pass. hehehe
The stores are full of cards appropriate for this great holiday. If you are buying for him or her buy Handmade. The products are made better and most are one of a kind. Jewelry is the way to a women's heart. There is plenty of handmade jewelry out there on the net. I even have a store that caters to the Large and Lovely women. Feel free to leave comments or subscribe to my blog.
You can find my shop at http://www.jannadu.etsy.com/ Thanks for dropping by and return as often as you'd like and check into my shop "Phoenix Rising Glass Art" for my weekly newly uploaded jewelry pieces.
