Art & Artists - Me & My Friends #13

I have a follower
of my blog that I
didn't recognize.
Ohhh, another
shop to browse.
Yay!
When I got to looking at the jewelry
I began to drool. What lovely symmetry
it had and an unusual balance.

As I was observing
the color combos
the pieces began
to look very
romantic and
quite pretty.
I just had to tell
the world about the beautiful bracelets.

She does her own
lampwork and as
you can see she is
quite good. The
bracelets are big
and chunky. Just
my style.

Example after
example she is
consistent. One
nicer than the
next. But "Who
is She. I have to
admit that I
personally don't know much.
Her profile was was very short.
I know she lives in Lake Havasu,
AZ, (my home state),that her
Birthday is on June 13th, Happy
Belated Birthday, and her name,
Pam.

The name of
her shop is
Klassy Joolz.
I hope all
who read this
will go on over
and give her a
look see. Her URL is
From a 1 to 10 I give her an 8. She's
worth it.

Art & Artists - Me & My Friends #12

Hi All;
I have not written
on my blog in so
long, I have the
need to blog!

I have been
playing with a
new medium.
What fun!!!!
These are a few
samples of my
work.

I am using a
stainless steel
blank with a
built in bail

You will see these
all over the
Internet. Most of
them are wooden
scrabble blocks,
with either paper
or fabric on them,
then some kind of
sealer to keep it
clean or just
shine. There are
several on the
market.

I have been
using Enamels
with a glossy
top coat. This
is an easy craft
to learn but,
it takes quite a
long time to
cure. After
you paint your
first layer it
needs to cure
over night. so
depending on
how many
layers it takes
you to finish
your design
plus the 3
glossy top coats
which also needs
to be cured over
night it could
take a few days.
So, I had 4 or 5
going at the same
time.

To me, the
abstracts are
more difficult to
do because they
really need
planning. The
flowers, fish
and tree were
much simpler. I
already knew
everything about
flowers, fish &
trees.

Well, I hope you
found this craft
something you
would enjoy
doing yourself
and really have
fun.

Art & Artists - Me & my Friends #10

Today I would like to talk to you about Victorian jewelry.

This piece is one of the new styles, at least for me. I love the romantic softness of filigree. Also, the choices of dangles and the number of them. Then the many different color combinations of stones for each piece.

There seems to be so much more that you can do creatively with this type of jewelry. At first you just
look at all the many parts and pieces and wonder
what the heck do I do with this junk, but pretty soon the smoke clears and your brain starts getting the
juices flowing. Picture 2 is another example of just how beautiful and romantic this style of jewelry can
be. Look how many pieces is in this item.

Another example of what you can do with this style. I made the cabochons myself. The rest are crystals 4mm
bead dangles.

The next item I will show you is in three pictures
because I wanted to get really close to it so you could
see what I was included in this one. This one on the
right is a fire opal CZ and in the center of the bottom part is a Swarovski button.

I hope I have gotten some of you all excited about Victorian jewelry. I know that I have learned to love it myself. All the pieces you see here are available at my Etsy shop at

Art & Artists - Me & My Friends #9

I'd like to show you a few new pieces of my Large & Lovely line of jewelry.
I'm really trying to stretch my skills. I've had a great time and am still
growing. Very soon I'll be uploading my new embroidery beaded
bracelets, but for now here are my newest attempts.
I personally love this one.
The colors, I like bright and
sparkly. The beadweaving
style is a very old Dutch
Spiral design. I added loads
of drop beads on both ends
and on the end of the chain.
By the way the chain makes
the bracelet adjustable
to about any size needed.

The next one I'm showing is a
spring coloredverigated furry
yarn heart. The heart is covered
with multi-colored glass leaves
between shiny pale pink
rondelles. There are three
strands of long length, each
were crocheted seperately then
all three on one side were
braided to the very end.
Then leaves were added at the
end to dangle. Imagine wearing
this necklace with a sweet looking
sundress, or what ever you like.
The last item of today is a set. A wire wrapped bracelet with two sizes and oodles of fresh water pearl drops on the front of the bracelet and on the back ends of the band. The matching earrings also are just lavishly dripping pearls. This set looks great with dress jeans or a sundress or even a semi-formal. You deside.
You will find many more lovely items for both the Large & Lovely and the Medium and Small wrist sizes at my shop. http://jannadu.etsy.com/

Today on my blog I'd like to spotlight another member of my Etsy Team.
Her Name is AnnaLee Husband & she lives in Toronto, Canada. She is an exceptionally brilliant jewelery designer who takes delite in making lasting and timeless jewelry with genuine stones and a large variety of metals. It isn't difficult to tell a piece of her jewelry, she really has her brand etablished.

She has three shops but, today we'll only be
talking about her Sassy D Lites Shop that is
full of lots of beautiful pieces of jewelry.
They stand alone. Just look at them, and you
want to go out and buy a new outfit to match.

She makes really great Men's Jewelry.
Beautiful and masculine. Here is just one
example of her good taste in men's jewelry.

She has ingredible color combo selection. Unusual looking to me, just because I wouldn't have thought of using all the different colored wires and real stones.

Don't forget to stop by our eSMArts Team Shop.
http://esmarts.etsy.com/ where all the monies received is given to a charitable cause and all the items in the shop are donated by the team.

You can find AnnaLee on Etsy at http://sassydlite.etsy.com/ or read more about her at her blog http://sassydliteblogspot.com/

Art & Artists - Me & My Friends #7

Do you realize that it's February already! Well things just creep up on me usually and I am late. It wasn't always like that. I was the one who always wanted to have a party - for birthdays, all the holidays, including Valentines day. I'd get everyone committed to be there (where ever) and what they wanted to bring, or what kind of party they wanted to have. You know, picnic out of town, backyard bar-b-que, a night out at the clubs for dancing, just a nice dinner party at who ever is turn it was house or what ever. Some family and some, a mixture of friends and family.
Valentines Day is a beautiful way to show the one you love (or like, guess it depends on your age, or does it?) how much you appreciate, care for, are comfortable with after all those years you have spent together.
I've been married 21 years, and we are just getting comfortable enough that we don't have to have the other's attention all the time. Gosh, was he difficult to get trained. LOL LOL
Seriously though, he isn't very romantic but all I have to do is ask for something and he gets it for me. I had to break through the "NO" period he went through but I made it. WHOOHOO I'm sure all you wives out there have been through or maybe still going through that time. Don't worry. This too will pass. hehehe
The stores are full of cards appropriate for this great holiday. If you are buying for him or her buy Handmade. The products are made better and most are one of a kind. Jewelry is the way to a women's heart. There is plenty of handmade jewelry out there on the net. I even have a store that caters to the Large and Lovely women. Feel free to leave comments or subscribe to my blog.
You can find my shop at http://www.jannadu.etsy.com/ Thanks for dropping by and return as often as you'd like and check into my shop "Phoenix Rising Glass Art" for my weekly newly uploaded jewelry pieces.

Art & Artists - Me & My Friends #6

Hello Everyone;

Today I am Showcasing an artist whom I've met through my Etsy Team, eSMArts group. Her name is Wilma Travis and she makes beautiful glass beads. Wilma lives in Crystal, Minnesota.
She is a mother of three, 2 boys and 1 girl.

Wilma starting her crafting in High School, where she made all her own clothing. All that sewing sure came in handy when she had her children. Once they were too grown up to have Mom making their clothes, Wilma branched out and made heavy flannel Western Style shirts which were quite popular. Wilma has made alterations to Wedding Dresses and everything in between. Kudos Wilma!

Next Wilma tried her hand in Ceramics. She really enjoyed doing Ceramics but, started branching out. She was introduced to a friends Mother, who was making porcelain dolls. Wilma was on her way to another addition to her long list of skills. Wilma bought a kiln and made porcelain dolls and the clothing they wore. Wow, lucky dolls.

While, one day Wilma was mall shopping, she slipped into a stained glass shop just to look around and quickly fell in love. Wilma got so good, she was selling from big panels to sun catchers and Christmas tree ornaments. Wilma is a woman of many creative interests and talents.

Wilma stumbled upon Lampworking by accident while researching bead making. Once again she was on fire for another craft and she does make the most beautiful beads. Wilma is quite the Artist.

In Wilma's own words "It's difficult to describe just how much joy I receive from a blob of melted glass that turns into a beautiful bead". I can relate to her words. I'll bet most artists can. That is what a great artist is and Wilma certainly is one.

Wilma gets her inspirations from just looking at her glass rods and of course, nature and it's stunning colors also guide her. With so many beads around, Wilma has branched out even more, designing jewelry. How wouldn't want some beautiful jewelry for themselves.

Art & Artists - Me & My Friends #4

The Etsy group I belong to has a shop open where all moneys earned from sells are all donated to a charity. In this time in our world, we don't realize all the people & little children, who haven't the very essentials of life. Those things that we count on & yes, take for granite.

This shop may never feed all the hungry, or put a roof over all the homeless, but we all in in eSMArtsteam feel the same. Whether you buy from us or are already doing your part, keep all those less fortunate in your thoughts & prayers.

Now, for the reason I'm writing tonite. There is a gorgeous pair of wire wrapped earrings in the shop. They are made of a heavy black wire & briolettes, chandalier style. Here's the URL
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing-php?listing.id=17873404

They were made by Anna Lee Husband. She is quite a designer, so jump over and take a look.
There are many other great items to look at & many old artists.
That's it for tonite.
Warmest Regards
Jannadu

Did you know that January is "The Love Yourself Month". That's Right Love Yourself. I don't know about you but, I am very happy to hear this.

It's about time we take better care of ourselves. There never seems to be enough time for ourselves. After the kids, hubby, Mom & Dad, & everyone else wanting a piece of our time there really is'nt any time left for US.

Like a drive someplace by yourself. Or, buying that special piece of jewelry you've been eyeing online. Or my personal favorite, a long hot bubble bath.

What ever your pleasure, do, pamper yourself all month long. I know I will.

Warmest Regards,

Jannadu http://www.Jannadu.etsy.com

Art & Artists - Me & My Friends #2

I would like to tell everyone about my line of
Rubenesque Jewelry. I think every women, whatever size, should be able to find beautiful jewelry that fits like it was made for her. Not have
to wear a tight bracelet and be miserable, or even worse, do without all together. This to me
who loves jewelry and would feel naked without any, is unacceptable.
Because of a need myself I am using my artistic abilities to satisfy the need
for those women.
Come on over to my Etsy shop, Phoenix Rising Glass Art and check everything out and don't forget to stop by the eSMArts Team Shop. Remember, they
are contributing all the money that is made there to a charity.
